Change Footer Widgets Layout

Each theme allows for widgets to be added to the footer section of your website. Where you can choose from a range of layouts up to a maximum of 6 columns. You can control the content of each widget area from the widgets section within your WordPress admin area found under Appearance -> Widgets.

To add footer widgets to your website follow the steps below.

Before the footer layout is selected we recommend you first populate each footer area that you want to use with the widgets of your choice. To do this follow the steps below.

  • Go to Appearance -> Widgets.
  • Once here you’ll see that there are 6 available footer content areas.
  • Choose from theavailable widgets and add the widgets you want to use to each footer content area that you want to include.
  • Note: You don’t need to use all 6 content areas. For example, if you want a 4 column layout, then only add widgets to footer columns 1 – 4.
Once you’ve assigned the widgets you want to use, the next step is to ensure the widgets show.

  • Go to the Footer section in the theme options panel.
  • Choose a widget layout for the footer area of your website.
  • Save the theme options panel.
Want to hide the footer widgets? To do this simply place a tick in the Disable Footer Widgets settings. This will then ensure the footer widgets don’t display, however will not remove the widgets you’ve already assigned from Appearance -> Widgets.
