Renewal Notice Still Showing

If you choose to renew your theme license you’ll be issued with a new API key. When adding the new API key to your website any renewal reminders should no longer appear. However, at times the renewal notice may continue to show for a short time even after the new API key is added.

This issue is most likely caused by your server storing some cache from your old API key activation. To remove the renewal notice the existing API cache will need to be cleared. To clear the API cache please follow the steps below:

  • Go to Appearance -> Themes.
  • Activate another theme, ideally a default WordPress theme (e.g. 2015).
  • Switch back to your original theme.

This will ensure that your API cache is cleared for the theme.

Alternatively, if the above method is not possible. It may be possible to clear the API key by inputting deliberately incorrect API credentials. To clear the API cache using this method please follow the steps below:

  • Go to Settings -> API Licence Key and select the License Activation tab.
  • Enter xxxx_key for the API License Key and xxx_email for the API Licence Email.
  • Press Save Changes and wait for the activation error message to appear.
  • Please now input your correct API credentials.

Note: When switching themes the API key will be automatically deactivated, so you’ll need to reactivate it when switching back to your original theme.

Some hosts to allow for theme cache to be cleared simply by checking for an update. In which case you may be able to clear the cache without switching themes. To do this please go to Dashboard -> Updates and press the “Check Again” button at the top of the page.
